Math Tutors 

Since childhood, I have always loved doing math and I have always practiced my math skills in all types of math such as numbers, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, etc. I find that math helps us have better problem-solving skills, strengthens critical thinking, and has better reasoning abilities. I always achieved high results in math from kindergarten until college. Therefore, at the beginning of my senior year of high school, I firstly chose to become a part-time math tutor for elementary school students because I want to convey the interesting things I have learned from math over the past year and helps them to easily understand it. Being a full-time student, I was only available to tutor on the weekends. During the time I tutored younger students, I also trained many skills for myself such as be patient, be an active listener, having strong verbal communication skills, etc. Having strong leadership and problem-solving skills can ensure guiding the lesson appropriately and keep students focused on their task as well as successfully identify a problem and create useful solutions to help them overcome that problem in understanding the subject.

Licensed Nail Technician

At the beginning of my college journey, I encountered many financial problems and was forced to find a new job as soon to meet my financial needs. Since childhood, I have also loved the beauty industry. So I finally decided to choose to be a nail tech. In terms of earning potential, the earning range can vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and demand. I can tell you that I've earned quite a lot doing this job!! Being a full-time student, this is a perfect career choice for those who want a flexible schedule because nail technicians often have the ability to set their own hours, schedule appointments, and freely accept walk-ins. I also have the opportunity to be creative and express my artistic abilities through nail design and art. Also, one of my favorite thing about this job is customer-facing skills - communicating and helping clients improve their appearance and boost their confidence can be a fulfilling and rewarding aspect of being a nail technician. This job can be interesting and challenging at the same time, especially customer satisfication! But first, according to my training experience, to become a nail tech, 

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Complete at least 240 hours of a nail technician course at an accredited institution

  • Pass the final exam

  • Register with the Florida Board of Cosmetology

The program consists of the required 240 hours of training that includes both classroom and hands-on practice and the Board requirements of the following training material:

  • Florida cosmetology laws and rules

  • HIV/AIDS information

  • Sanitation

  • Ethics

  • Theory and practice in skin and nail structures and disorders

The fun part is you'll get to learn how to cut, tint, polish, color, extend and cleanse nails and massage hands!!

Business Manager

I was working as a nail technician at another nail salon until my mom opened her own nail salon in the end of 2018 which is when I began to help her managing the nail salon. This marks the hardest time in my life! Again, as being full-time student, it's not easy to also have a full-time job. To operate the nail salon effectively, competing well with the salons in the market is not easy, and being a manager, I have learned and gained lots of experience and skills from others to perfect my work. There are few skills and abilities you need to know to become a manager in general that I have established a list after being a manager for 5 years now.

  • Firstly, building customer relationships is because you're the one who directly interacts with customers, listening, understanding, and resolving customer requests, questions, or feedback about service quality.

  • Secondly, employee management - the manager must create a comfortable environment while remaining within the management framework, always listen to employee aspirations, and be the one to mediate conflicts between guests and employees. Manager is also the one who will calculate their salary within the tips.

  • Thirdly, knowledge and experience in the profession - you must sharpen your professional skills and be up to date on the latest trends and nail designs. This is a good advantage (market strategies) to help your nail salon's face attract more customers, and especially your staff will respect you more.

  • Finally, technology application skills - technology is likened to a manager's "effective arm." It will make everything easier!! Instead of struggling with store receipts, there are instances of negligence and loss; however, with the use of technology, these tasks can be easily completed with a few clicks.many nail salons choose nail & spa management software, such as IDBeauty, NailSolution, FastBoy which includes features such as online appointment booking, marketing, customer service, personnel management, and so on.

Beside that, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills do really help because I'm also responsible for the nail salon tax documents and financial situations!
